Our Pastor

Pastor Louis G. Stewart

Pastor Louis G. Stewart has been the shepherd of Christian Tabernacle Church for the past 21 years. After serving in the United States Air Force, he was employed by the Chicago Transit Authority. While employed there , he opened Stewart’s Hobbies and Toys. After receiving the call to minister God’s word, he attended Moody Bible Institute. During this time, Pastor Stewart was very active at Prayer Tower Church in Chicago. He served in almost every ministry including Sunday School, the Bus Ministry and a coffee house program for alcoholics.

In wanting to preach and teach God’s word to the best of his ability, he concurrently received a Bachelor of Art Degree in Interpersonal and Group Communication from Trinity College, where he graduated Cum Laude. He also obtained a Bachelor of Theology Degree from the Chicago Baptist Institute where he graduated as class Valedictorian.
It is with this type of love and guidance by the Holy Spirit that, CTC has grown tremendously. Many ministries and committees have been added under his leadership. A true man of God, Pastor Stewart never strays from teaching and preaching God’s word.

God has given Pastor Stewart a vision and mission for CTC to be "The Church Without Walls" where CTC embraces all believers as part of the local body and the body of Christ.
